We condemn the refusal of the Tea Party to support a financial reform bill with teeth that stops reckless fraud and abuse. The Tea Party’s refusal to hold Wall Street to higher standards proves that it is not a grassroots movement and is really just a wing of the national Republican Party and campaign vehicle for Sarah Palin.
We believe it is our patriotic duty to protect the American Dream, strengthen national security and provide for the common good of all Americans. We also work independently to elect candidates in targeted races who support these patriotic policies.

On July 30, 1976, American Bruce Jenner sets a new world record in the decathlon at the Montreal Olympics. Jenner defied the odds by training with top competitors in each of the decathlon's 10 events, rather than training with other decathletes. Following the Olympics, he is dubbed the "world's greatest athlete."
